CONFIGURING THE CORRECT DIALER PROPERTY
SETTINGS
Although your Excel Dialer will
function right after the hardware and software installations are complete.
Here are some settings that you can fine tune just in case it's not working
properly.
STEP 1
Click on START, then RUN

STEP 2
Type in "dialer.exe" as shown below and click on "OK"

The dialer opens and here is a screenshot of what it will look
like

STEP 3
From the Toolbar menu go to "Windows", "Call Windows", and make
sure there is a check next to "Always on Top" and "Automatically Close."
Also, select "SLIDE FROM RIGHT" so that the dialer won't cover up your names and
numbers in your excel sheet when you are dialing.

STEP 4
From the toolbar menu, select "View" and make sure that there is
a checkmark next to "Hide When Minimized"

STEP 5
From the Toolbar menu, select "Edit" and then click on "Options"

STEP 6
In the options property page, make sure you have the option
button on "Phone", and for "Phone calls" make sure that your 56k modem is
selected OR you can have it set to "<Auto Select>". Finally click on the
"Apply" button on the lower right corner to apply the settings if you have made
any changes.

STEP 7
Click on "Phone and Modem Options..."

The following property menu should appear and we will select
"Edit" if there is an existing location selection, or optimally we will create a
"New" location by clicking on "New."

STEP 8
In the Edit Location page, you can change your "Location name,"
enter your "Area code." If you have to dial out to an outside line, you
will need to enter that number in the "Dialing rules" section.
(Please note that if you do need
to do this, check to see if you have a digital phone system and not an analog or
VOiP system. Trying to dial your modem to a digital system will have
unpredictable results, including burning out your modem.)
Make sure you have "Tone" option checked.

STEP 9
Finally click on "OK" and then click on "OK" twice more to get
back to the dialer. You are now done with the configuration and you can
exit out of the dialer program.
